Psychological Evaluations
At Therapy Utah, we want you to have a clear picture of the challenges you’re facing. Our in-house psychologist can provide evaluations in accordance with court orders and assessments to help diagnose issues that may require specialty treatments.
What is a Psychological Evaluation?
Have you ever had physical symptoms and that seemed to go on for too long? If so, you may have visited a doctor who, based on what you reported, would authorize various tests to be run. This doctor would provide specific treatment for your individual needs based on the results of those tests.
Just like a medical doctor, our psychologist is asked to perform psychological evaluations when someone finds themself with mental health issues that appear to be lasting longer than 6 months and don’t have any known causes. After a discussion about your specific symptoms, our psychologist will choose the tests he feels would be most helpful for providing you with a clear answer.
Psychological evaluations are diagnostics performed by psychiatrists to diagnose various challenges, including:
Thought processes
Behaviors
Memory issues
The purpose of these evaluations may be to:
- Assist with the creation of a custom treatment plan
- Identify the underlying cause of specific symptoms
- Predict potential future challenges as the result of a condition
- Provide updated information after a previous psychological evaluation
- Diagnose a disorder that requires specific psychiatric treatment
Our on-site psychologist can also perform assessments for therapy clients, including adults, couples, families, and children or adolescents. These assessments help Therapy Utah match each client with a therapist whose methods fit their unique needs.
