Whitney graduated from Brigham Young University with a BS in Health Promotion and from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology with an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Whitney is an emotion-focused therapist who works with clients from a place of deep empathy. She strives to create an atmosphere in therapy that is warm, safe, and trustworthy while putting her clients and their emotional experience at the center of the therapeutic process.
She has experience working with children, teens, adults, couples, and families dealing with betrayal trauma, other trauma, addiction, attachment injuries, anxiety, depression and grief. She uses a variety of interventions that are emotion-focused, mindfully self-compassionate, and attachment based. Whitney is certified to treat betrayal trauma, has completed Gottman Level 1 training and is currently training in EMDR and Internal Family Systems.
She is a member of the American Counseling Association, the Utah Mental Health Counselors Association, and the Utah Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. Whitney is also bilingual and conduct sessions and groups in Spanish and English!
